Our aim is to help children communicate in a way that feel comfortable and authentic to them, so they can build confidence and enjoy more meaningful shared experiences with peers and family members - whether that’s during play, conversation, or everyday routines. Therapy goals may include:
Building their awareness of their own communication styles and the needs of others
Exploring and developing a shared connection with others.
Supporting their diverse communication skills and ability to express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively
Identifying and communicating feelings and emotions
Developing perspective thinking skills (e.g., double empathy problem)
Self advocating for their needs and wants
Autism
We use a neuroaffirming approach to support autistic children, as well as children with emerging or recognised autistic traits, to understand and celebrate their own communication styles and the needs of others.
