Our aim is to help children communicate in a way that feel comfortable and authentic to them, so they can build confidence and enjoy more meaningful shared experiences with peers and family members - whether that’s during play, conversation, or everyday routines. Therapy goals may include:

  • Building their awareness of their own communication styles and the needs of others

  • Exploring and developing a shared connection with others.

  • Supporting their diverse communication skills and ability to express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively

  • Identifying and communicating feelings and emotions

  • Developing perspective thinking skills (e.g., double empathy problem)

  • Self advocating for their needs and wants

Autism

We use a neuroaffirming approach to support autistic children, as well as children with emerging or recognised autistic traits, to understand and celebrate their own communication styles and the needs of others.
